Sweet ride!

How's it compare to the Nighthawk? (Like anything could really  laugh)

Everything I love about the Hawk, the Bandit has - only modernized.  (don't tell the hawk I said that, lol)

Looks nice.

What's the difference in insurance premiums between your bikes? (of course, I'm assuming you have insurance)

Surprisingly, it's not too bad.  It's about 350 a year for full coverage on the Bandit.  Don't remember how much for the Hawk, I paid it a while ago.

oh, the naked, er unfaired, version of the 600 was not offered that year.  The other color was blue.  4-way adjustable rebound dampening!
I forgot about that weird chrome hump on the side, and the color-matched frame.  But it's a decent standard with carburetors and analog gages and six gears, so I get the appeal.  Looks clean.  Stock pipe?

The suspension is surprisingly comfortable, once I adjusted it down for me.  Analog gauges, with digi clock, dual trips, etc.  Micron pipe.

Just digging through some old threads and came across this one.  My friend purchased a used one last year and I became immediately envious after seeing it.  Like you said, seems like a nice, modern faired version of a Nighthawk.  Hope you are still enjoying the bike.

Surprisingly enough, I don't like it as much as my 'hawk.  The Nighthawk is far more comfortable.

I recall a Motorcycle Online article that compared some "budget" bikes; the NH 750 and the first year of the Bandit among them.  The NH won with the Bandit 2nd, only because of the likelyhood of being able to get a deal on the NH and not on the new Bandit.

I'm not saying it's not a good bike, it is.  Runs like a beast... I just have a fondness for my 'hawk, I guess it's a personal preference thing.

I can't say I've ridden every bike out there, but I've never found one as comfortable as the NH.
