This is my second bike, but one I have always wanted and plan on keeping for as long as it will survive. In the background you can also see my dad's 750K, and I'll post some picks of it in the thread for other bikes.

From back when factories made judicious use of chrome!  I always thought those chrome decals were delicate and short-lived, but these look great.

Also liking the black cylinder/unpainted valve cover/polished um, insert (?) in the cam area.

Those chrome "inserts" are just caps.. and they are on all 750cc motors from 82 at least and a year or two before and after I think. They aren't removable unless the whole head is coming off though.. so they are mainly flash. I love the chrome decals too, and the reason they look in such good shape is that this bike spent 14 years in a basement.. it only has 11,500km (7200 miles) on it.

now that you have that nighthawk look for some 900 cams or put a 900f motor in it happy1, nice bike, my '79 started life as a 750 until the cam chain did not adjust then in went the 900f motor then front and rear ends off a 750f. but the tank, side covers, and tail section are 750k. found out later about the cam swap
