I have been learning about the Kawasaki ZRX1200R lately, which has been produced in various colors over the last decade or so. I am not saying that the Kawasaki has copied the Nighthawk S, but it does seem to be the only modern motorcycle that has styling that closely resembles the old 700SC. In particular, I think the rectangular headlight & headlight fairing, the tail treatment, and the aluminum accents on a dark engine.

Any thoughts?

I love the Kawi ZRX1200R. Perfect design IMO.
If I were to 'take it to the next level', I'd seriously consider that bike as a contender for me.

It looks like a cross between the 700s and the European CB Sevenfifty, very cool.

Those are awesome bikes! A little too powerful for me though. They have a great following, but still don't sell as well as the typical "sport" bikes. I sooo wish Honda would bring back the 700s style in something similar to the ZRX

I love it, there are a few owners here on the site too. I've seriously considered going for one eventually myself although they do seem hard to come by. I'm also thinking about something I can do a little more touring on, so I may have to sacrifice the sport for the practical.

I rode one. Very similar to the NH700S, but a little less frame flex. Likeable bike, the gearing was realistic and the power was useable. It's one of those bikes that just oozes personality.

Why didn't Honda sell these for very long in the US? (my laborious websearch on Wikipedia says they only sold them here in 1994-95) Were they not a good seller? Not as much "sport" as the late-model 919?
