WTF motorcycle ads??? V2
« on: May 31, 2014, 09:50:38 PM »
I loved this thread in original forum, but found this one ad to revive the thread.

Note of his "project" when you insure a bike here, you have to register the engine WITH the frame.  So it says, insure an an 80 650 until they punch in engine vin and sorry, bike illegal!

The "frankenbike" is actually an awesome idea, just horribly executed.  I would love to throw a modern CBR600 engine in a 700s.  My dream bike would be a 2014 cbr600 but somehow make it have a standard riding position.  But I don't have $13k plus however much to modify it

V4 500cc Cafe Racer Powder Coated Frame, Motor Rebuilt, Custom Exhaust, Hannigan Fairing, Solo Seat. Needs Battery. Mississauga, On. $1350 or best Offer Call Rick 416 677 371 Email:Rick

I have no comment, other than this is a waste of a perfectly good motorcycle.

Although the bicycle seat with the springs is an interesting touch.

I know it isn't a CBR but is this close? The CBF600.

No, the CBR600RR has 118hp and weighs 410lbs wet.  Light and fast is what I like.  I want all the performance thats in that bike without having to lay on the tank and without any fairings.  Nobody is ever going to make a bike like that because it doesn't make any sense.  Well, except to me.

I'd be more impressed if it was a bicycle with a motorcycle rack.

Sure the insurance is cheaper; however if you get full coverage, they're only gonna cover it at the cost of a 1980...

When my 700S died on me 2 years ago I got a great deal on a 2001 CBR600F4i and absolutely love it.

Clearly I've missed the latest advancements in big wheel technology. I don't want to buy it but I definitely want to play with it.

That thing looks awesome...but I agree, I just want a turn on it, I don't want to buy it.

Also, I'm betting "No pics at this time" translates to "looks like a pile of $#!t right now".
What is good Phaedrus...

Re-reading the ad, I don't think the actual for sale is the trike....

Yeah I just looked at the ad again and he's updated it to a a picture of a cb750 with no tank or seat. I recognize the background in the pictures too, it's a local motorcycle shop (the only local shop  that does old Japanese and British bikes) his shop used to give me all their parts bikes for free back before the internet was big and the only way to sell stuff was the newspaper and bulletin  boards. Cool trike though.

Now that's what I call bored-out.

BTW, a tip for this topic. Rather than copying the URL, it's better to post a screen shot. It won't be long and most of these links will be dead.

wow.  Can rejet with stage kits.  And here I waste all my time on test and tune.

Also sure that rear suspension does alot running parallel to the swing arm.  Awesome 1" compression per foot of swing travel... Wait, wouldnt get that far before hitting spring...

It's like they had a check list of things you should never do to a Nighthawk and they went ahead and did them anyway. At least he doesn't think his creation is worth 2k over blue book though.
