Hi, My name is chris and i am and addict :)

It is so nice to see lots of 550 nighthawks on this board...

i have had mine since march of 2003...

I upgraded the front suspension and wheel to a 700s, but never got the second brake disk and caliper on...

sold the bike to my brother in law for $1000 in 2004... he rode it till it developed a knock... then gave it back to me...

it has set for about 4 years now, but i have a low mileage engine on the way...

here are some pics from its early life in my family...

after the 700s front end conversion...

Trip to texas hill country...

parked next to my 2000 Triumph Sprint RS 955i :)

i plan to try to fit my 700s rear wheel as well... and repaint the bike to match my triumph...

later,
Chris

Looking good.  You want two yellow bikes?  Throw something else in there, like Red or something.

Good luck!

Now that's unique. I like unique. I don't have a 550, but I can appreciate the work you've done to that bike. I like the idea of the 700s front end swap. Throw on the other caliper and get it dialed in and I bet it would stop on a dime  beer

just to let you know the clip-ons prolly wont clear the tank, i dont know about the 550 but i know it wont clear on the 650's and 700's, i had to do some aggressive modification to the tank to make it clear ( i.e. took a rubber mallot to the b ) lol

i dont think there will be any interferance the way i plan to do it...

i am gonna lower the forks in the tripples and put the clipons on top of the top tripple clamp...

it will make the rake pretty aggressive though... thus the desire for a steering stabilizer...
