Hello all, I am a newer rider, I learned how to ride last year. After my learning bike (a CX500 deluxe although I think the deluxe part was a bit misleading  Hap1* I rode that bike for about 3 months, sold it for more than I bought it for and picked up a Concours. I liked the fact that the Concours was powerfull and could ride me and my gf w/o a problem, but it was way too painfull for me to ride. It had massive vibration, had arm and back pains ect. I sold the Concours to my buddy who is 6'4" and he loves it. As I was shopping for a bike, when my dad bought a newer bike, so he gave me his 93' Nighthawk. At first I didnt like it, thought it was slow and not so pretty. But over time, I appreciated the comfort of riding it, learned how to use the top end of the gearbox *something I never needed on the Kawi lol* and after my first large road trip, a 200 mile ride that I have made about 10 times so far, I loved the hawk. On the Kawi that trip was so painfull I would have to sit and rest for at least an hour to regain feeling in my hands, but on the hawk even when I got back home from the ride I was ready to head out and ride it again  super Anyhow, my plan was to sell her this summer and get something sexier, but she has won me over, I installed a fairing *link below* and got it ready for the summer, been great riding here in Northern California so far this year, mabey we can get a riding group together and run up to tahoe or reno this summer. Looking forward to meeting the other hawk owners here. I have to have my gf show me how to use the digital camera lol, Ill post a pic soon, its black and all stock cept for the fairing.

Good on you for the comfy economy ride!
Having toured on both my Concours and my '92 NH, I can agree with you that the NH does indeed ride smooth and gets good mileage, too.
The Connie vibes can be reduced a great deal with proper carb synch, valve adjusts, and by checking the clearance on the motor mounts. My Connie vibrated when I got her new, but now she is much smoother after a little engine and chassis work.
The Connie has the NH beat only in the twisty stuff, and if you do some suspension upgrades on the NH, it can do a lot better too!

I was just thinking about the Honda Guzzi this morning.  They have a cult following.
Thank you for being honest about the lack of sex appeal of CB's.

Well if my concours wasnt a $600 craigslist bike it would have probly run alot smoother LOL. My friend loves it though, hes tinkered with it and rides it alot more than I did. As for the sexiness of NH's it looks alot better with the fairing if you ask me, a little more like the sc700's.

I have that same fairing on my bike.

I like it. Doesn't do anything functional, purely just for looks. The previous owner had it on there when I bought it. Originally, I didn't like it and had planned to take it off. But it grew on me fast, and I've left it on. I took it off last weekend to see if I could get a new horn on (Stebel Compact won't fit in there with it on btw), and I realized how much I liked it after I had it off.

Hope to see pictures of yours soon and welcome to the forums.

Sweet looking ride :) Mine looks exactly the same, cept it doesnt have the NH stickers on any parts of the bike lol. Im not sure if that was aftermarket paint or lack of love for honda lols.
