So, I'm going to be commuting between the house and train station (only about 10 miles of country roads)...I WILL wear a leather jacket...however, it's going to be too hot to wear the jacket on the train and into work...then back...
any suggestions?
Do any reasonably priced saddlebags have locks...and the room...for a leather jacket? Or should I just put my big boy undies on and wear it to work as well? I use a backpack for my laptop, etc...but there's no room in there for the jacket? I COULD wear just my lighter nylon jacket...but I'd be much more comfortable and at ease with leather...

Are there any of those coin operated storage lockers at the train station?

I just take my jacket off and sling it over my shoulder or tuck it under my arm.

I use a plastic covered bicycle chain lock through the sleeves and around the front forks.

Six foot long cable lock through a sleeve. Rolls up small enough to fit in a pocket, loops at each end go on the helmet lock.

What If It RAINS?
I lug my leather and helmet with me. The leather weighs 12.5 lbs.
It has the most density in leather I found, but weighs a ton. Always a trade-off.
It's warm in the summer, even with the liner removed and the zipped vents open.
So I admit to wearing a jean jacket alot in the summer. Leather on longer and
evening rides.

Wet leather stinks, and that's one reason I wear textile. I've left the Roadcrafter zipped up, openings facing downward, and very little water gets inside. Try Nikwax or something...

AWESOME idea about the cable lock...
as for rain...I'm thinking just a simple plastic bag, with holes cut for the cable...to protect from rain
although I won't be riding in the rain if I can help it.....yet....still new on the bike

Mine go in the saddle bag with a little masterlock between the two zipper pulls... if I even bother to lock it.
I don't worry much in my immediate area about theft, of anything. If I go to the city, though, that's another story.
I used the cortech tri-bag saddle bags, by the way. My textile jacket is pretty big, and has full armor in it. It fits just fine.
