So, I FINALLY got to get the hawk out...weather hasn't been agreeing with me lately...and when it HAS, I've had to pick up my son from daycare after work...
today is different...
I leave the house at 4:15 AM....
and it's COLD...60 degrees is NOT warm when you're riding *LOL*...
add to it the fact that I've NEVER ridden in the dark before...made for an interesting...and fun...morning...

Sounds sortta like whai I've got into except 60 degree weather.
For about three months or better we haven't had any rain.
But the next day after I brought the Nighthawk home it has rained every day, and the weather channel shows at the lease 50% chance of rain.
I work 12,& 13 hour shifts, and go in from 5-6 in the evenings.
Hopefully the rain will back off some, one of the reasons I got the Hawk was to ride to work. I don't mind so much getting wet on the way home, but I don't like the idea of spending 12-13 hours in wet clothes, and boots.

same here...hadly ANY rain in Chicago...until I got the bike
and the weekends that have been nice, I've had my daughter (10) and I don't want to waste the time I have with her (divorced from her mother) riding...I'm not nearly comfortable enough on the bike to ride with her yet...so that leaves weekends out too

I prefer early morning rides. get's pretty hot down here lately  I like to get to work early anyway, most of my ride in is 2-lane back roads and I hate when I get behind the school buses and/or big trucks. I prefer the road to myself when I can get it. |

Took my Grandaughter "8 yrs old," for her first motorcycle ride the other day. When I got her back home, and was helping with her helmet, she said "Poppa, that was Awsome!!
So I guess I have someone to ride with me.

I'd love to take my daughter for a ride...after I'm more experienced/confident on the bike, I will... for now though, I wanna focus on learning to ride better than I do :) |

That what your jacket lining is for . I rode in March at 29 degrees, now that was cold for me. Yeah, but my jacket hasn't come in yet  it comes in tomorrow...so I had to wear my "regular" jacket |

Don't need jackets for cold down here. Lucky to get into low 70's at night, but plenty of damp. Comfortable ride home in the mornings. Kind of hot going to work in the afternoons. As long as the "Whirley Ladys" {Hmm guess I'm still old school} As long as the "Huricanes" stay away lots of good riding day and night. Rusty  |

I don't find 60 degrees cold at all on the bike. Actually if its above 58 degrees I'm in mesh. You feel the chill but I wouldn't call that cold. Cold is uncontrolled shivering, numb fingers, and frozen toes.
Rain can be fun to ride in. As long as its raining not drizzling. Rain drops clear themselves and mist from your visor but the mist alone just stays. Get some motorcycle specific rain gear. It's weird riding in the rain when your nice and dry and warm. Rain gear is good to have on those chilly mornings as a wind breaker too. Then you can still wear your mesh for that hot ride home in the evening.
