Now why do you have to go and do that?

I've been drooler over that bike for about a year now. Hoping by next season, I'll have one. Looks sweet.

Sorry.  My wife said to go ahead and get it if that's what I really wanted.  I had an 05 Katana prior.  They are nice, go ahead....join the club!

Oh good, it has a clutch lever.  poke
Certainly beats the Kanatuna.  Looks great in navy.
I forget the niggles the reviewers had besides engine heat, but it seems every large sport tourer had its own 'personality.'
What's the observed indicated top speed? burnout

Wouldn't have touched it if it didn't have a clutch lever.  The 06 is the first yr that they fixed the heat issue.  Prior years, as I understand it, you roasted your chestnuts.

This bike handles great, to me, better than the Katana.  My observed speed?  Just after break in I said, well, let's see.  I backed off @ 135.  It was too friggin smooth.  A little spooky too.  I was nowhere near redline.  A c note with this bike happens so fast it's not funny.  I hated the stock seat, but a Corbin on it, that made my butt feel better.  Stock windshield was a little short for me, but all the same being able to raise and lower on the fly is still fun for me.  I actually looked at the old concours and the st 1300.  Glad I decided on the fjr.

The nighthawk feels like a toy to me compared to the fjr.  I was amazed though when I took her for a few rides.  The bike is incredibly smooth, especially for her age.  The power is smooth also.  For my wife, I think it's perfect.  It's balanced extremely well, I couldn't believe the weight difference from her son's first bike he had, a 06 gs500, only 20lbs heavier.  I'm impressed with it.
