Here's a pic of one of my stablemates. A '98 Honda Shadow VT600CD aka VLX (why can't they just have one name?) . Was all stock when I purchased it last year and is still mechanically stock. Just changed some cosmetic things............

I like it.  How is the 600 for highway cruising, power wise?

I had no idea they made a 600.  I've heard of Shadow 750s, and never a bad (or even ambivalent) word.
They do a brilliant job of aesthetic proportioning.

It's ok highway cruising. Not sure I'd want to run 80 mph all day long on it as the tranny is only a 4 speed.

I've been told, but can't confirm, that it will outrun a Shadow 750.

It wont outrun the 750. The vlx600 will run about 80mph but the gearing seems to be set for crusing around 60-65mph. It gets blown around on the highway about the same as my nighthawk 650 does.

below is a pic of my wifes 00vlx600 and "Scrappy" my 83nighthawk650
