The Clutch and Master cylinders was bone dry, the owner told me when he put it away 3 years ago brakes and clutch worked fine. Now nothing. Can hydraulic fluid evaporate?
But the major problem I’m having is the Clutch and Master cylinder cover screws are striped. Any help??

I might try to find some used ones on ebay. They aren't usually too expensive.

The screw heads are stripped? If not totally rounded out yet, position the (old) screwdriver and hammer it in. This 'unfreezes' things a bit and seats the tool. You can try penetrating fluid, but this just tends to make the screwdriver skip and slip more IME.
Or just use some screw extractor from a hardware store. It'll destroy the screw, but they're only worth a buck.
If a hardware store sells m4x12 flat head bolts, buy them and give a shot. Hopefully the thread pitch and countersink angle will be the same....

I had a thought after my first post. An older mechanic friend of mine uses and I have also tried it and it does work. He said to get some valve grinding compound (not very expensive in a tube at the auto parts store), put the valve grinding compound on the screw head and tap it like happyc said. The compound will help give A LOT more bite on your driver. Just one more thing to try.

Update: I attempted to hammer a screw driver into the striped screw of the brake master cylinder and I cracked the cover. Have a brand new one in route.
The clutch master cylinder I brought to a machine shop and they drilled the screw heads off popped the lid off and removed the rest of the screw with pliers (At no cost)
Now to clean gunk out of the well. I'll try carburetor cleaner. BTW does brake fluid go back in the clutch master cylinder?

The 650 nighthawk requires clutch hydraulic fluid in the clutch master cylinder, it requires DOT 3 or DOT 4 Brake fluid in the brake master cylinder.

Dang, I knew I should have added 'firmly' or something. Sorry about that.
On mine both covers say DOT3/DOT4 brake fluid right on them. Brake hydraulic fluid and clutch hydraulic fluid are the same thing as far as I've ever seen.

I had the same problem with the stripped screws and was able to replace them with stainless steel 4x12mm ones from Menards with no problems with pitch angle etc.
