My 1991 Nighthawk 750
« on: May 06, 2016, 07:11:43 AM »
Purchased July 4th 2015. I believe I am the 3rd owner. it had 23k on it when I bought it. I plan on slowly cleaning it up. I found some reflective rim tape from a gentleman that goes by CustomTaylor33.com.

Great looking bike - My 93 looks just like that. :) I plan on chopping mine up though.

Good looking bike. Looks almost exactly like mine minus the round mirrors and I have Corbin seat.

I like the look of the stock mirrors, looks more modern to me. Those you have aren't bad though.

Also aftermarket is so good for simple things like mirrors that it is worth checking there.  Never know if something catches your eye and easier to get.

Very nice...much like mine  nice1

I was using round aftermarket mirrors for a while (they mimicked the type used on our Nighthawk's early '80's CB Custom ancestors) but ultimately went back to the OEM rectangular ones.  Frankly they work better and I wanted to return my '93 back to a more period correct appearance.

Good luck with your new ride  ridn2

At first glance I thought it was yours!  But then I noticed that one doesn't have the chrome trim around the tank.

Good catch!  Yeah I added the trim years ago as another "homage to the ancestors".  Many of the '70's CB's sported tank trim.

Have not been on in a while, I am still looking at getting some mirrors ;).

Well before the summer was over I noticed that after riding and placing the bike on the center stand, the rear shocks would make some funny noise and the springs would push then to extension (you could actually see the rear tire move towards the ground) would this indicate that I need new shocks?
