just like the nighthawks you have to have an airbox unless you change to smoothbore carbs. you will get a flat spot at 4k and it will not rev much past 6k. those cv carbs are on these old hondas too

cv carbs need vaccume to work properly and smoothbores work off the throttle cable to open and close the  butterflys up not vaccume which is why you need  to rejet with pod filters and cv carbs

freed the brakes and rode it up and down the block for about a half hour. my neice rode it and said she needs a bigger bike. i should have the air box and boots by next friday so i'll park the wing and nghthawk and ride the supersport for a couple weeks. my neice wants a naked goldwing but i told her if she could not find a bike she likes i would sell her the 750f for what i had into it, love that seafoam!

I like the looks of that 750f.

As for cleaning the carbs...I always do it as soon as I buy the bike, regardless if the bike needs it or not. Its a good way to get 'in there' and find other possible underlying issues. I've never used this Seafoam stuff. I pull them all apart and soak 'em in diesel for 48 hours and then blow 'em out. I have heard that pure alcohol works if you don't want to have them soak for a long period of time.

the alcohol is not good on the rubber parts on these old carbs infact new fords that run e85 have to have a steel gas tank and all steel fuel lines because of corrosion. here is my latest pic

Hey, I was out for a jog yesterday and I saw a bike identical to this for sale. It was in tip top shape and it had a windshield on it.
The guy was asking $2600 for it...which is way too much. But it was in really good shape.
