Don't forget to post some pics Nighthawk S 700cc  Engine No. RC20E-2005720 Compliance Plate Reads: Build date 11/83 then weights, tyre and rim sizes, tyre pressures etc, JH2 RC2001 EM005354, CB700SC, 1984 Model The Aussie version is the CBX750F with the engine number starting RC17------- and is chain driven. The original owner is an American who married an Aussie. When he moved to Australia he shipped the bike over. I bought it from his brother-in-law. It has travelled just 4348.3 miles and looks new. It has been in storage for at least twelve years and was last registered 19 years ago (Aug 1990). The bike came with a full carby kit which I will install as my first part of the project. The price I paid:  $200au or about $140us as he just wanted it gone. I will take some pics tomorrow and post them. |

Cheers Gammer, I picked up the box of spares from the previous owner today and it has a set of brand new intake boots in it. Also included was the complete toolkit, the carby rebuild kit, the original owner's manual, various O rings and seals, two oil filters, one front indicator fork clamp/mount and two bits that I have no idea where they go (They appear to be a cosmetic fitting). They are marked left and right, are made of shiny tin and resemble half the end of a trumpet spout  Edit: Just saw a close up photo of a Nighthawk motor and realise they are covers for the intake boots. What I do need is a fuse box cover. |

What I do need is a fuse box cover.
They are still available from Honda. And they look better too...newer style. You could probably order one from a Honda dealer in North America. Here's what the new one's look like:  |

Bike looks in great shape pretender. If it sat for so long you may want to think about a new battery and possible changing the spark plugs as well. Keep us updated on your progress.

That's what I'm thinking. When I told my wife I was buying a bike and for how much she was more than a little angry, telling me it would be a pile of crap and a waste of money, I said "trust me" which just seemed to make her angrier  When we got home and she saw the bike she changed her mind and is now pushing me to get it up running so she can ride it. I wonder how she would react to a second one though  |
