I've noticed that some NH 750s have a black block and cylinder heads and some do not. Did certain years come this way? Or are people just painting them?

Just curious.....

Looks like they say black engines started in 1996.  Not sure how accurate that is though.

I asked because I did notice that most of the pics owners put up have black blocks, but my '95 has a gray/silver block. In that link you sent, all the pics have a black block except for the '95. I like the black better, but it's not worth the effort to paint it.

When the Nighthawk production began, the 750 engine was all black except for the valve cover. The 750K of the same year had an entirely bare/silver engine (of the ones I've seen anyway). I'm assuming it was just to distinguish the models, or that too much chrome and silver would make the earlier NH look a little weird.
