Tonight I introduced my nine-year old grandson to Lazzy and gave him his first ride (all geared up, of course!) He loved it, to say the least! He thought B.Rex looked pretty cool, but you should give your grandson his first ride on pony, not a tyrannosaur, and so, Lazzy was called into play and performed flawlessly.
We made an impression; that much is sure!
He made me promise a longer ride in the future and didn't have to twist my arm at all.
A certain Dairy Queen about forty miles north of here comes to mind.....

And another future addict is created.....

From the sounds of your post, I can't tell who enjoyed it more - you, your grandson, or Laz. :)

My daughter likes to ride with me also.
But the big thing right now is that I recently took my Grandaughter for her first ride.
When we got back to her house, as I was helping to take her helmet off, she said Poppa that was awsome, when can we go again?
That made my day!!
