**************************************************************************************** **************************************************************************************** well, i made my first forum "meet up" ride today. rode 1 1/2 hours to meet cameron and his friend. they took me around lafayette and showed me purdue university and some country roads. we had a great time, even though i was twice their age and my bike was older than them. goes to prove that riding can be for all ages. our next adventure will be the motoGP with isleofmanfan (tom) who is also a forum friend. can't wait to post those pictures. special thanks to cameron for taking time out of his weekend for an old giezer like me!

Beautiful!...Spent 5 years in lovely W. Lafayette back in my college days. Only had a human-power bike to tour the back roads then. Would have to be a blast on 2 wheels with dozens of HP! Z

All personal differences are set aside when a common passion is involved. You must be referring to the age difference...? Anyway I had a blast riding around with Jim (highwayjamin) today, even if he's an old geezer! Lol, just kidding ! Both of my bikes are older than me too. We only got a couple pics of us around the bikes. I didn't bring my camera with, and honestly I wouldn't have thought to stop for pics anyway. There's always next time though. Jim, thanks for making the trip up here man, I hope it was worth it for you and that you had a good time! I know I did. I'm really looking forward to the MotoGP trip. We'll have to ride around again sometime. I actually have a neat book that has routes all over the state in it, so we'll have to do one. Later on! -Cameron

Highwayjamin here (Jim) My wife and myself are going to the motogp again this year,I put a post up about a week ago to see if anybody is going from the forum.I had a couple of responses from members, isleofmanfan and cjbear,we have been in contact with eachother. This past saturday I rode with cjbear11,cameron,and we made plans to meet up at the track.Isleofmanfan is staying at a hotel close to me so we are meeting up,for the weekend,So anyone that wants to meet up with us and ride to the track with us is more then welcome. We have our tickets already,we got a pretty good deal on ours

Hi cjbear11, you guys ride sounds like a good time. Wish I were a little closer.
I haven't talked to you yet, but it looks like we'll be doing some riding later this month. I plan to be rolling into Fishers at around 1 or 2PM on the 28th. I've got reservations for two nights. Ever been to GP race? When I got there last year (Sat. afternoon) the 250s were qualifying. As soon as I jumped out of my car my hair stood on end as the bikes went screaming over the entrance tunnel at about 160 mph. Its a good time, you'll LOVE it.

I was a COG member till I sold the bike. I still have my STOC #6000 and my Valk # as well. Don't have the ST, but still have the Valk. (Mostly 'cuz I'm too lazy to put any effort into selling it.) The Connie was nice, the blue color was gorgeous, but it had the Connie buzz and was a little top heavy. The ST was awesome and I wish I had another. Anyone want to trade for a used Valk?

Sorry, please don't be offended...it was a good photograph....even the bikes looked good.... Lol, no offense taken man. It's usually hard to offend me. I just didn't know to what you were referring. That's all, no prob. The guy on the Concours is my friend David. He's only had that bike for a month or so now, so I don't think he's on that forum yet. I know I've heard him talk about it though. It's an '86 we picked up in Ohio one night. It only had 15k on it, and it's in perfect shape. DesignFlaw06 and isleofmanfan, Yes we are planning a MotoGP "trip" of sorts. We only live an hour from Indy, so it's not much of a trip for us in terms of distance. My friend and I went to the race last year and had a blast. We actually went down on Friday night though, and spent the whole weekend there. My friend has grandparents that live in Indy, so we stayed with them. Our plans for this year are the same. It sounds like you'll be arriving earlier than us, so we probably won't be able to ride to Indy together. However, if you guys would want too, we could meet somewhere on Saturday morning and ride to the track together. That be the easiest way to meet up, and would be kind of cool. What do you guys think?

Send your buddy David our way: www.cog-online.org and www.concours.org. It's the strongest riding group I've ever seen, "join for the bike and stay for the people." Incredible pool of experience and knowledge about the bikes, and every region has tons of rides together. These are overall just great folks. My '05 had the buzz, I fixed it with motor mount shims and a carb synch. Rode that Concours across the country and back last year, no fatique and no problem. Funny, I couldn't stand the ST. It's a good thing we all don't like the same bikes, after all....

I may be able to make that work. Might even talk Dad and my uncle into tagging along. I'll find out more for sure after this weekend.
