Hello, My name is Kurt, I live in Grand Rapids Michigan. I just found this board today, and I'm very happy to find a site like this.

Here is my freshly restored '82 750 Nighthawk that I just finished a full restoration on. In fact, I just rode it for the first time yesterday. This is the first bike I have ever fully restored and I'm quite happy with the results. Let me know what you think!

Here is the before picture (June 16, 2007)

Also, Here is the '82 650 I've been riding in the mean time

I will post more pictures and info of the 750 rebuild process soon in the project log section.

Wow. Stealth 'Hawk.

What kind of pipe is that? And what's the pipe on your 650?

The pipe on the 750 is a Mac 4-1 and the pipe on the 650 is a $50 ebay purchase and I have no Idea what it is. The mac exhaust is the loudest, and the 650 exhaust is somewhere between stock and the mac exhaust in noise.

Good to see another West Michigander here.  welcome

Looks like you've put quite a bit of work into both of those bikes.

hello and welcome to nighthawk forums kurt, that a great coustom jub you've done on the 750 do you have simular plans for the 650??

I plan on touching up some of the paint around the engine, and fixing a couple other minor cosmetic problems with the 650, then I will be selling it now that I have the 750 to ride.

I'm also going to keep an eye or two out for a 700S, I've always wanted one of those.

If you're willing to go for a weekend drive, there's a beautiful one going in Tennessee...

I'm actually looking for one to restore. Here is one in Muskegon, MI that I might go look at, but it looks like a handful of a project.

are those foam air filters? did you re jet? look clean without the box thre. ive seen some with k and n pods and i like that too. i see your going for the flatz look. its kind of like the nightster. even the fork gators look simillar to the nightster. thats cool i was gonna do a hot rod flatz paint scheme on my fighter but i saw the orange copper pearl and went that route. the flatz paint scheme is in my future somewhere though. i like it.

Krtismo, what size are your forks? If they are 39mm like my '85 650, would you mind telling me where you found your fork gaiters and how much they were?
