First trophy for Precious
« on: September 11, 2016, 06:04:29 PM »
As some of you know, my '93 750 "Precious" has served me well for years, through many big trips such as the PA, KSL 4, Vermont and WV NH Rallies, Ramapo 500, etc. in good weather and bad.  Once my NC700X took her place as my general purpose ride, Precious was honorably retired from the active roster (and from bad weather) and returned to a period correct early '90's appearance.  She's now doing shows like her other CB ancestors and just scored her first victory (post '76 stock / restored class) today at a professionally judged event  ridn2

Smiling with the trophy....

At the garage posing with her new stable mate, Miss Shagwell.  They are nearly the same color!

I'm glad precious gets the attention she deserves.  While we may poke fun at your OCD, you have come a long way.  I only wish I could have a mild case of it.

You and that trophy look like a happy couple, and you deserve it!

Only if my '84 could look that good...

Thanks gents!  Thanks Tim...I attribute the changes to two things: 1.  Getting older and lazier   og2  2.  Now that I have two modern machines with no chrome, cleaning (even on a trip) is a simple affair so I can redirect the worst of the OCD on my classic bikes  whoohoo1

Sparkly!  Shiny!  Impressive!
My hat's off to anyone who can take the time to keep a running machine in that kind of condition.  Me, I can barely keep all my various engines and house and garden and job in the "functional" category.

Congrats, Kitch.

Think of all your elbow grease you put on that bike :) Maybe few buckets!!!  That's shiny indeed. BTW, what happened to molding around the gas tank? Did you strip that out?

Thanks Nicholas!  Yes I took that extra chrome striping off to bring her back to period correctness...but I retained the strips between the side covers and tank.
