Sorry, I meant the room they leave me at a stop light, and they usually come up slowly too.. I usually get 15 feet while riding even in town. There are alot of bikers around here, and when they're in cages you can tell, you get tons of space. THere are always teh other ones who don't know any better, but they're everywhere.

I've also heard/read that bikes with a windshield are involved in less accidents caused by cagers turning left in front of them simply by the fact that there is more frontal area on the bike to be seen.

Just had my first experience last night, almost home, with a person turning left (just behind me) on a busy road. I had my right signal on, and I knew it was a tight turn for me so was slowing quite a bit. I could see that lady's eyes bugging out  bugey as she realized that she didn't have as much room as she may have thought to make that turn behind me with oncoming traffic for her. No one hurt. No screeched brakes. She stayed WAY behind me after the turn. Phew!!!  wacko

threadjacked ??? We are talking safety here...

And if you wobble a lot when you stop they tend to hang back too.  happy1

A pocket full of tacks, pebbles, and other similar sorts of debris can be an effective tool when dealing with tailgaters!        giggle

There's nothing quite like beating on a stick of unstable dynamite with a hammer.
