My 84 Nighthawk CB 700 S E 40 k miles
« on: April 09, 2017, 05:27:57 PM »
It was my main ride in AZ to and from work. We moved to Ohio and the ride turned into 100 miles a day. It was replaced with an BWM R1100 RS. Wife rode it a couple times even through the dragon. I have owned it for the last 15 years.

Is this a for sale post? They are not allowed here, you need to post them in the Classifieds section.

I was hoping to post pictures of it, but can't seem to load them. My post just gave a short history of the bike and was not intended to read as a for sale listing. The bike is for sale but not on this forum, as I do not have 25 post.

Let leave the moderating up to the moderators OK?

My first post said nothing about selling the bike. I could not get the pictures loaded which seems to be a common issue. I read other post in this section and found others telling stories about there bike, that's all.

There is a sticky in the general forum information section about posting pics.  You have to host them externally and paste a BBcode link.

What is a 700SE?  I just noticed the other day that the plate on mine says it's a 700SC; I thought the 'C' meant it was a California model but apparently it doesn't.
I don't think I have seen the SE designation in the Honda shop manual.

Sorry I left a letter out, on the frame, right side cover  there is a sticker that read CB700SC-E.

Does yours have the California emissions gear on it?
I was trying to see what I could find about the meaning of the suffix letters, with little luck so far.  Apparently the base model designation for all of them is CB700SC (while the name of the bike is "Nighthawk S") but I'm not certain what any extra letters would refer to other than the additional evaporative components.  The definitive designation for your particular bike should be on the VIN plate on the left side of the steering neck.

To the right of each image on the Photobucket pages there are four boxes labelled "Share This Photo."  Copy the code from the lowest box (labelled "IMG") and paste it into the text area when you're posting.

I'm up in West Mansfield, about 18.3 miles north of Marysville. I do spend some time down in Kettering and Bellbrook. Sometimes I go on the CCM rides on Saturday morning.

They are a dealership at RT 68 and hwy 71. They have a 75 mile ride on some Saturdays, then free lunch after. I've seen up to 50 riders sometimes.
