Set out riding this morning to nowhere in particular , it was a bit of a wet ride at first till the fog lifted

So i headed out to see the old field where i learned to fly but first i stopped for breakfast and then watched a couple dudes do touch and go at the air field

I took off to no place , just riding roads i never been on before and found this on the side of the road

So off i go and come across Fox River in Yorkville Illinois so i stopped and asked the dudes fishin if they caught anything , turns out it wasn't a good day for fishing

An old train rusting away by the river

I rode through small towns till i recognised a name "Bloomington" cool now i know where i am so i found  interstate 55 and decided i went far enough south so i headed back up north and came across this small town and a wind farm (i had to check it out)

From there i rode back to Chicago covered in Bug Juice  , all and all it was a fun 250 mile ride and yep i'm lookin forward to the next one  biker_h4h1

Very nice pictures,
Did you go down the old US 66?
Also, how do you have the bag on the bike? Bungee chords?

Those wind mills are huge, did you ever see one on the road loaded on the back of an oversized load truck? Real cool.

Yep i went down rt66 but it's not a road , just broken up parts of it here and there ...Here i took some pics for ya on how the bag is mounted , it comes with mounts standard when you buy it so i just routed the straps around the bikes under frame on both sides.

The rear has an attachment to the grab rail but it could be better (think i'll work on that today)

This coming weekend might be good .. smiler

+1  Great work, Hangster! Thanks for stopping to take us along on your rides.  thumb

Is that rack bag made for a bike? Seems wide, but perhaps it's designed with side bags in mind. Does it shift at all at speed? Looks well secured.

The bag is just a standard saddlemens  thing i got from "motorcycle superstore "
http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/3/13/124/13875/ITEM/Saddlemen-TR3300DE-Deluxe-Rack-Bag.aspx

It does secure well and does not shift but doesn't hold it's shape real good over a period of time so i had to yank those plastic walls and bottom reinforcements out and made my own out of very thin aluminum sheeting  (now it's very rigid and wont deform )....I'm off now to get some rest for tomorrows ride

I dont have any pics (which is unfortunate).  I was in Houston working for Helmerich and Payne drilling company and we were at the ship yards learning about this new drilling we were bringing back to Colorado.  One morning we pass these Oversised loads coming out of a yard across the street from ours.  ( I also learned the Iron mill we passed once inside the gate was the mill where they shot terminator II at the end).  Anyways the cops have the road all closed off and its cramping up traffic horribly and out comes the almost biggest thing i have ever seen on a truck.  there were two trailers and a guy sitting in a seat at the back of the whole mess with this huge looked like a prop for a plane and then i realized is was one blade from a windmill.  it was an awesome spectacle.  just wanted to throw that in. super
