Exxon Mobil SYNERGY Gas
« on: April 18, 2017, 04:29:31 PM »
This just landed in my home town:  http://synergy.exxon.com/

Thoughts? Are more detergents good or bad for our Nighthawks?

That is a difficult question to answer.  They indicate several classes of additives without providing any chemical information.
Nothing to base any answer, except to say "try it and see".  The additives sound useful.
I plan to continue to use Exxon in my bikes and autos.
And try to keep an eye out for any unusual behavior, especially with my 1989 bike.

Ride Safely and don't drink the gasoline, with or without additives.

Agreed.  The marketing campaign is so dumbed down its almost insulting.  I don't really worry too much about fuel but it would be nice to know whats in it.

I've been using Amoco premium since the '70s in every bike I've ever owned: '72 CL-450, '73 CB-750, '82 CB750SC (NH), and my current '96 NH750. It has always been lead-free.

I have used this gas in my cage and my CTX700 with no issues. I find this gas is a bit better than the other gasses offered in the area where I live. I think it also comes down to the amount of ethanol the put into to gas when it is prepared to go into the tanker truck for delivery to the gas station.  Once I get my Night Hawk back in working order, I will definitely give this gas a chance to see how well it performs.

I tend to agree as far as ethanol goes - Look at the "fun with fuel" thread...
