Have the chance to get a 92 750 nighthawk with 32,600 miles, 2 small scratches where laid down. Supposed to run good etc. for $1100. Haven't had a chance to go see it yet so not sure what good shape is but seems like a fair price, No?

Seems like a decent price, not great but decent.

THats not a horrible price, but if it was laid down check for anything else that might look bent or replaced. If there seems to be alot of new parts, especially one the side that it was laid down on, ask why? Best thing to do is go and look at it though and get a feel for the seller, to see if you think he's honest or not.

I think it's a great price.  Which would make me concerned what else may be wrong with the bike.

Define "laid down." Toppled over in the parking lot and gently lowered to the ground on its side? Or 50 mph high side and work done to make it look right so they could sell it?

If i was looking for one and it was $1100 in good condition, depending on the individual's behavior and comments, the sale is practically done.

I paid $1800 for mine and it had been down. the PO had done the repairs to make it look clean, and I could not fine anything wrong mechanically. My bike is a 95 and had 17,000 miles on it when purchased.

Although I recently realized the handlebar is not perfectly straight

Location helps, too. Whereabouts are you?

Up here in the Northeast, used bike prices are not cheap.

Used bikes don't seem to be cheap anywhere, since everyone seems to say that.

Florida does seem especially pricey, though.

I just saw a '92 in good cosmetic shape, just a little dusty for $1,000. It did start with heavy choke, and a bit of condensation out of the muffler, but I would have have probably been able to get it for $850. The laid down part would make me a little nervous. A little out of kilter at 25 mph is tolerable, but at highway speeds is another matter. I think I would keep looking.

heck, a used lawn tractor is 400 bucks. A rusted 1971 ford maverick with body rash is 800 bucks....A used Nh with fair miles is ???  Come on, give it a good look. Is it a DOG ?  The difference to a POS, never loved or maintained Vs a good used but not abused bike should be obvious....if all the plastic is crap., the seat rotted and ripped, the directionals and mirrors askew / broken, the chrome rusted, oil is mud, smokes when run up, and the tires old and dry .....look elsewhere. But if it was a well maintained bike that recieved love and care, but was laid done....its a fair price..... caveat emptor. Still, even if all is AOK, I'd low ball a little and see if the bait is taken-maybe 850, 900......ps gonna need tires and perhaps other stuff to bring it up to speed anyhow, but somewhere around a grand for a GOOD bike is fair.  AFAIK  the miles are not too high, but maybe others could chime in on that specifically.

PS Is it the original owner ??? Anyone that puts 38k on a bike must have liked, and maintained it fwiw.       GOOD LUCK  banana
