I've heard those yellow ones cut down on glare, but I don't have one so don't know from personal experience.

I've got two shields for my Helmet, Scorpion Exo700.  A clear and a Dark Smoke.  I use the dark smoke 99.9% of the time.  I really like it and I think it makes a big difference.  It would be cool to be able to try them all though.

What do you want it to do?
I'd say clear is first choice, light gray tint next.  I really dislike  the mirrored visors because they make the rider look like a robot.  Too dark and you run into problems whenever it gets cloudy or you ride through a tunnel.

Guess I'm a robot.  smiler   I use a mirrored one about 90% of the time, but I think my next one would be dark tint.  I'm not sure what the light tint would do for you, as you might as well just do a clear shield and bring along some sunglasses.

I have a dark shield and I still use sunglasses.

Around this time of the year, I switch to my clear shield since it's dark when I leave and getting darker on the way home.

I don't ride at night very often, but I have been caught a couple times, only around town. So I'll take the slow route home with the shield up a bit.

Now that I have the FJR I leave the other shield in the bike for those times.

Like DF, I wear a smoked shield during the spring to fall seasons. During the cold season I switch to clear and use sunglasses when it is bright.

I wear transitions glasses, but they never darken while I wear the clear shield. Not sure if it is because UV rays are blocked by the shield.

Transitions depend on UV rays, so if they are being blocked at all by your helmet visor, then they won't darken.

The torch will glaze the scratches and turn them transparent. There will be some distortion but since it is so close to your eyes it won't impact your vision like the whiteness of the scratch will.

Now that you have the new shield, are you brave enough to try Maxx's torch idea on the scratched one?

As i thought , all it did is distort the shield more and did not remove any of the scratches

You got it too hot and bubbled it.
I guess I'm just used to doing it as I used to do it to Plexiglas.

All the new coatings on the recent shields probably react differently than the older standard plexiglass.
