Well - they are sold out of them now. There's another model, called the "aston" on thier regular site for $179, which isn't bad at all.
Initial impressions of the Track Paddock II:
-Wow - this thing is heavy! It had a shipping weight of 11 lbs, and even just the back pad alone is around 2lbs.
--Very good quality, the leather itself is excellent, very thick yet flexible. Will break in well, and ought to last quite a long time. The padding is secure and fairly comfortable, feels like it will last.
--Fit; has nice long arms (which I need) adjustable waist straps. Could be a little more snug down lower, but will work well with a sweatshirt.
--Liner - this may take some getting used to. It's pretty warm & bulky, it reminds me quite a bit of a water-proof Columbia jacket, as there are two zippers on either side of the main zipper to remove it, and two buttons at the end of each sleeve. More substantial than other liners (like the chinsy, cheap ones like Joe Rocket tends to provide.) but it's quite a bit more than I'm used to so I may not use it until winter.
--Quality. Here again, JR, Alpinstars, etc have "cost improved" thier jackets in recent years. Look inside and they are 100% textile inside, all trimming is textile now. This jacket has the $1.00 extra amount of leather used inside and is more comfortable for it. Even the textile panels down the sleeves have a nice, expensive feel to them.
Overall, I really like this jacket. If anyone else buys a similar one, I would be interested to know your thoughts as well. Very happy with the purchase!
