Did you name your bike?
« on: July 18, 2017, 02:19:38 PM »
Well, it seems to me that every bike I've ever ridden or owned had a personality.

I thought it might be interesting if anyone else out there named their bike(s).

My current scoot is a 1996 Honda NightHawk is in the stock "Shining Pearl Yellow', so of course, her name is Amber.
She's just reached drinking age (21), she's in great shape and has never let me down (or stranded) in the now 11 years I've owned her.

If only everything else in my life was as reliable (and fun to ride!)

I started calling mine "Lazarus" because I raised it from the dead.

but

Aye Captain !
Well stated - but there goes my theory that motorcycles are female...
I can live with that.
In the case of "Lazarus", I'm sure "he" appreciates his second chance  and will reward you with ongoing performance and reliability.

A motorcycle officer once told me to "keep the rubber on the bottom" - Sounded like good advice.

Keep the rubber on the bottom, Captain!

There are no hard and fast rules on motorcycle "gender". We tend to make assumptions sometimes...easiest way to find out is to avoid naming your bike until 'it' tells you exactly who and what 'it' is...and usually the name follows suit.

Aye Captain!
Wise words (that I also happen to agree with).
No wonder they kept you in charge of the Enterprise!

I guess the only other notable perturbation would be when your ride isn't happy with the gender on their birth certificate.. err title documents..
Okay, I admit it... Being silly...

I had a kawasaki, called it herpes because I had a right hell of a job to get rid of it. My nighthawk 700 s is called black Betty. Everyone in the village knows black Betty( bambalam).  Being as there is only about four nighthawk 700 sc left in England, she gets the looks when bigger/ need bikes ride by.
