My RWB Nighthawk S
« on: September 02, 2017, 03:23:22 PM »
Every since I had a 84 Nighthawk S after I graduated HS in 87 I have always wanted a 86 RWB. Well here it is.

I have to use the "Direct link" when using imgur. It also makes it easier if you click the little cursor arrow (far left above the smilies) that switches
the view.

That is a great survivor right there! It's nice to see that there are still some in original form out there.

Wish it was original but it's not. The bodywork has been redone by po. It's nice enough but not perfect.  I like to tinker so there are minor changes on the way, have bar end mirrors coming as I always hated the stockers. Want to powder coat the calipers red same as the stripe with white or silver lettering this winter and add SS lines, Maybe some other subtle mods but mostly cleaning and refinishing. I will use salvage parts when available and save the originals. Not sure if I like the seat or not, will probably try to find an original. This is my midlife crisis and is still much cheaper  and safer than an old muscle car or an affair with some 20yo girl. I spend as much time just looking at it as I do riding it, and a lot more time looking at parts.

I can't seem to figure out how to post pics on here (I know this has been talked about before), but had wanted to post some pics of my RWB Nighthawk-S bikes.....I had 5 of them till this summer;  sold off 2, and still have the best 3.

I still have a total of 42 700-S bikes, and need to sell off a bunch of them.

The legendary MOPARJOE!

Pictures have to be hosted on an external site like Flickr.  Photobucket now charges you if you want to link to your own photos.
This forum uses BBCode so look for that when you try to share any pictures.

Not that computer literate, and don't know what "BBCode" is?

Isn't there a way to just upload pics straight from my computer?

No, there isn't.

If you set up a site with your pics on it, the steps to get them showing up on here can come after that.

I set up a FLICKR account, and loaded 6 pics on it, but couldn't figure out how to do anything with them.

Click on any of your pictures so that's all you're looking at.  Lower right corner of the screen there is a series of icons.  The middle one is an arrow curling to the right; if you hover your mouse over it a hint will pop up saying "Share Photo."  Click that.  A window opens on top of the picture.  The first time you do this it will be under the tab "Share" and will have icons for Facebook, Twitter, etc.  Ignore that and click on the "BBCode" heading instead.  I normally set the lower box to the Medium setting that has one of the dimensions as 800.
Assuming you're using a PC, make sure the line with the link in it is highlighted.  Press and hold CTRL, then press C.  Let go of both.  Change to the window for this forum and after clicking in the white box where you normally type, press and hold CTRL, then press V.  The share code should appear.

I don't see a single ROB '86 -- surely you have at least one of them in the best colour scheme??!

You are (basically) correct (except the part about the "best" color scheme)....I never bought a R/O/B '86, as I'm not a super fan of that color scheme.....i DID , however, buy all the parts to change one of the 5 RWB bikes over to ROB, if I ever desired to do so.

I am probably going to sell of the all the ROB parts, including an NOS tank, but going to be big money if I do (I was offered big money for just the tank, but wasn't ready to sell/separate the parts at that time).
