There are two part numbers listed for the fuel tank. How much difference is there between them?

The A suffix refers to the 49-state model, while the AC suffix refers to the California-smog-reduction-equipped version. From what I can find, the California model has a vent routed to the emissions plumbing, and the 49-state model has a vented fuel cap.

It probably just has a different venting system for the California model. I know my California cap was non venting. I had vent hoses coming from the bottom of the tank to the charcoal canister and EVAP system. I don't the function of the tank is any different
