Fieldsheer Adventure - $149.99 from motorcyclecloseouts.com!

An older model, but still a great jacket.  Waterproof (or so claimed), a nice warm insulated liner, excellent armor (including the back pad!), soft and ride-able right out of the box, lots of reflective panels, pockets, venting, and a removable storm collar (shown in the pic).

I just took it out on a short ride without the liner - around 57 deg and breezy - and this jacket is very, very nice.  Kept me completely comfy, blocked all wind.  Only thing underneath is a long sleeve wicking thermal.  I really wanted something with some hi-viz accents but not available.  For $150 I couldn't let that stop me.  The black / yellow is actually pretty visible (and it matches my yellow NH  happy1 )  I've ordered some iron-on hi-viz tape - we'll see how that works out.

If anyone is looking for an inexpensive but well made cool-cold weather jacket, this is a great deal.  BTW, they run big - at 5'8" 155, 40" chest, I needed the small.  My Olympia GT Transitions jacket is a medium.

What's the deal with the high neck?  I guess it's meant to keep wind and water out, but does it actually work without a hitch?

Nice pick up!  I snagged an Olympia Patton Hi-Vis Red jacket yesterday for $130.00!  Retail was something like $250.00.

Needless to say, I was thrilled!  It was on closeout from a shop in Wisconsin (thanks, Ebay!).

It's a removable (zipper attached) storm collar.  You are exactly right - meant to keep rain and wind off the neck and from finding a way inside the jacket.  I haven't tried that yet, but it sure looks like it will be effective.
