Hi everyone.
I have a quick question.

I have this helmet, an HJC CL-31

And this visor

So far I've had no problems.
Skip forward to tonight, Brumz needs to get his ride on and his stress off.
I hopped on the on ramp for the freeway, get to where I'm supposed to merge, check my mirror- A-OK. Turn my head to do a visual check ---------

AAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The visor ripped up!
It didn't come off or anything, but I'm going 65 and the wind catches my visor and rips it off.
It ratchets up and down, and when it is locked in place, it is usually very secure.

Obviously, this is not effective or safe and I need to do something else.
Has anybody tried the HJC IS-33?

I really like HJC, and I want to stick with them.

I know that I should probably get a full faced helmet, as I'm VERY into being safe; but my glasses slip down on my face a lot, and I need to quickly be able to get my hand past a visor and push them back up so that I can see.

I wear glasses as well. I have the same glasses sliding down nose problem as you do (when I'm not wearing the helmet). I can see where you'd think that, but if you get a properly fitting full face helmet to where it's as snug as it should be your glasses will not be sliding AT ALL. I promise.

The padding in my scorpion exo400 holds my glasses in place very snugly. So snugly in fact that I now use a pair of thinner wire framed glasses when I ride because my thicker framed more modern frames were killing my ears/side of my head from being squished in there.

Just my $.02, YMMV.  beer

I'm with niteman in the thinking that something with a chinbar will rigid enough to keep even pressure on the temples and keep things in place.  I've had the opposite problem where a last minute helmet adjustment would have the eyeglasses hovering a hair above my nose.
I'll also toss up the idea that a second set of glasses might be cheaper than a helmet.  Something with cable temples or full-on elastic backed sports glasses.  Tax deductable?

Does the CL-31 have a visor lock on it?? I know the full-face HJC helemts have locks on the side to prevent the visor from coming up at high speeds (not sure how fast you need to go to do that, but its a good thought). I don't wear glasses for normal use, but any type of sunglasses/low light glasses I've used usually stay pushed against my head by the helmet padding.

Get a flip face or modular helmet. I wear glasses too and they do slip down my nose every once in a while. But with the flip face you can unlatch the chin and slip a hand under to push the glasses back up. I found that once I put a full face helmet on I have to scratch an itch on my nose or face. The flip face at least allows you to throw the chin bar up and scratch away. Funny part is when I have my modular helmet on I don't get those itches.
