Yet anoher Nighthawk S question
« on: December 03, 2017, 02:38:40 PM »
Okay, ran into another stumbling block........I'm replacing the stock exhaust system on the bike and can't figure out how to get the header clamps off the headers.  The collars on the cylinder head end of the pipes are resisting all efforts to remove them.  I've tried penetrant and heat--they don't budge. Can someone enlighten me? Thanks!!

Not really sure what you mean.  Each collar has two bolts, and then the collars pull off the studs and slide down the pipes.  It might take a bit of prying the get the collars to budge -- perhaps that's what you mean?
There are no pipe connections that I know of.  I believe the system is solid all the way through, with only a join at the crossover box that allows the two sides to be split.
