I'd heard the Royal Enfields had had some quality problems... the kept the molds too long and the part quality wasn't always consistent.  BUT the article I read also said they have a new director and it appears that's going to change (or it may have already changed, because the fuel injection was also something they were talking about).  I think they're pretty cool looking bikes too.

Addendum to this photo ride / vintage shoot from last fall: I'm in the midst of scanning a bunch of early family pics and what should I find but this shot of my uncle in 1950 riding a 'Whizzer' just like the restored one I photographed at the museum last fall.
