Tons of vendor tents. You could get tires mounted or air brushing done. Ray was going to get a new rear tire but they didn't have any more of his size in stock. Here are just a few of the tents.

One of the reasons we didn't ride much today was the prospect of 700 miles of interstate riding tomorrow. I think the NH has a decent stock seat as it has always done fine for me on my commute(110 miles roundtrip) and weekend trips of 100-300 miles. But 500+ to Nashville caused monkey butt so I shopped for a good aftermarket cushion here. After sitting on several I bought this AMS cushion. It has gel covered with memory foam and a sheepskin cover. One of the best additions I have made to my NH.

Day 6 of our trip began early. We were packed and ready to go by 6am. Just waiting for our hotel to open for breakfast. We feasted on waffles then one last look at the weather befor we left. Radar showed rain to the west so we thought 5 perfect weather days was too good to be true. Probably an hour after we left Knoxville we ran into the rain in the Cumberland Mts. Pulled over under a bridge to slip on the raingear and off we went. We were being cautious with Ray's back tire not having alot of tread. The cool temps with the rain ended close to Nashville. We then got caught in a massive traffic jam as 5 lanes bottlenecked into 2. We practically walked for several miles in blazing sun with our raingear on as there was no way to exit. When the jam ended we blazed through Nashville then pulled over to get the rain gear off.

The rest of the trip home we saw nothing but endless, mostly straight and hot asphalt. It was in the 90's by mid day as we chugged on. At every gas stop we hydrated and ate lightly with fruit or pb crackers. We didn't stop for a meal until Little Rock, 500+ miles into the trip home. It took approximately 15 hours to cover over 700 miles. It was a great trip, but I sure was glad to see my family again and sleep in my bed. I am looking forward to another trip next summer, probably New Mexico and Colorado. This last shot was a rest stop about 75 miles from home. It was getting dark and the temp was dropping so we geared up for the final push home.

Thanks Deadly. I've learned from reading your reports and many others on ADVRider and 2wheeled Texans. Both of those forums have inspired me to take longer trips. I don't know if the Hoot is worth the $$($55 registration+$18 per ride) but the camaraderie with other riders at the Hoot was great!
