have a 450 NH,  and I need to pull the head for valve work due to fuel contamination, just wondering if anyone makes a hotter cam for this motor?

are there any performance gains in changing out stock mufflers? I know its not a 750 but that's what I have to work with.

what about the other motors? can they easily be swaped into a 450 at a later time, or are the frame mounts different?

there are no big bore kits available for the 450's either?

most all parts for a cb/cm 400 will interchange with a cb/cm 450. the dohc 450 from the late '60;s to mid 70's is totally differentand very few if any parts interchange. big bore kits, maybe back when our 450's were newer

Wow, I actually asked these questions for my 78 Honda CB400T II Hawk. What year do you have?

Anyways it's going to be interesting. For cams, well there isn't anything that is available, but you could possibly get a regrind done, but I have no idea if that would be really successful. Shaving the head to bump up compression ratio might work, but since this is an air cooled engine, might not be the greatest idea.

Best ideas, would be to improve on the suspension if you can find anything that works, I've found that Race Tech has cartridge emulators for my for along with matching springs, surprisingly enough, so you may want to check them out. To go faster in acceleration or top speed just change the sprockets to change gearing.

I have an 85, got it for free with only 6000 miles, has been sitting in a garage for 10 years. I don't have anything invested in it, so I figure what the hell let's get it going.

Here in LA we have lot's of motor cycle junk yards, so I figure a motor swap would be dirt cheap if the 750 hawks had the same frame mounts.

not looking for speed, just crazy acceleration in a sleeper bike. I'll check out RACETECH, suspension, do you have a link for them?
