So, we hopefully all had a great Christmas and now to get back to motorcycles. Forum members in warmer climes should keep the folks in the frozen tundra entertained during the 10 months of winter they must endure. So here is a little report on a short ride that wanted to be longer but a late start and darkness by 5:30 forced the RR 4 stater to become a 3 stater, total of about 130 miles. Ray and I departed New Boston and headed west to DeKalb,TX, then N to OK. 1st pic at the Red River, the only thing that separates us from the beasts in OK and AR(just kidding okies and arkies, we love ya and your great motorcycle roads).

I suddenly seemed colder when we hit OK. The ride started in the upper 40's, don't know what the temp was in OK or AR.

After 20 miles on the loneliest backroad in OK, we cross over to AR.

AR & OK have some fantastic MC roads, but we didn't have time to get to those. Just flat river valley. After miles of nothing, this suddenly appears on the horizon.

We were 4 miles from the Ash Grove cement plant when I took this pic. Here is the zoom in shot.

We stopped in Ashdown, AR for coffee to warm up before heading back to TX. Next time we will include LA to get 4 states. It was a good ride, as any day on a mc usually is.

Thanks Lindy It's not quite 10 months of winter here, but sometimes it feels like it in the middle of February.

Nice ride LL, what kind of pants and gloves do you use?
If you are game for a North Louisiana ride, maybe I'll trailer my bike up there and ride with ya'll next time.

How far S in LA are you? If you go much farther south, you are going to need a propeller. But hey, I trailered my bike up near Cheneyville, LA, and rode the Kistachie Scenic Byway. Let's plan a ride for the Spring. I'll meet you at least 1/2 way.

Snoop, We live far apart. HP is in S La and I'm in NE Tx. I've never seen another NH in my area(mostly cruisers). It would be fun to ride with some other NH'ers.

Major Winter weather right now, everyone holled up till it breaks. High 53 can you believe it? Clear and sunshine. Low in the 40's tonight. When will it ever end? Peobably 2-3 days, and back to short sleeves. Usually both of my Long Sleeved shirts get to be worn twice per season. I still wear long pants year round, don't think I even own a pair of shorts.
