The CBR pegs you can get off Ebay do work. They only need som very minor mods to get them to fit right. Just grind a little off the back of the mount that goes into the footpeg mount and you may have to drill the holes out a bit bigger for the pins. I got rid of the pins for some chrome bolts I got at the local hardware store. I'll try and get some detailed pics loaded up later for you.

CB550js, Here are the pics of the pegs...
Like I said before, you will have to grind them down a bit at the top of the peg.

This is how they look after being put on the grinder.

Since the pegs are thinner than the stock mounting bracket, I had to use a spacer on either side of the pegs. On the rear pegs, I used some spacers that I had from my Sportster however, you can use washers from the hardware store that have a rubber backing on them. You will need them so the pegs don't flop around inside the mounting bracket. I used the rubber backed washers on the front pegs. You will have to flatten them a bit with a hammer to get them to fit properly.

Also, I had to drill the holes on the mounting brackets a little bigger to accomodate the chrome bolts I used.

All in all, they work decent but, the front pegs do not fold up anymore. The rear pegs fold up fine. You will need to use the washers I mentioned on the rear or when you fold them up, they won't stay up.

On another note, if you buy these types of pegs from Ebay, the peg itself is screwed onto the mount (the unpainted part). You will have to use locktite on the threads or they will eventually loosen up.

Total time modifying these to work was about an hour or so.

Hope this helps. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

No problem. Glad I could help.

I suppose you could get the springs to work with more modification. Let me know how it works out for you.  thumb
