Welcome aboard. Looks like the same Supertrapp I used to have on my '84. Do you have some sort of a rain cover slipped in there on top of the discs?

Hello and welcome. It looks like your fuse cover is was ripped off in the same spot mine was. I guess some folks don't know to take the screws out first. I picked up a new one from the dealer...price wasn't too bad and I think it looks better then the old style:

its seems to run good, i had to drive it home from where i bought it that was about 120 miles but it does have its problems. has small oil leak but it looks like its coming from the oil filter. also looks like who ever put the supertrap on broke off a couple of fins.

does anyone know if this can be fixed, or does it have to be replaced? is it worth fixing? i would like to restore it but i don't know if its worth it.

Yeah those fins seemed to be destined to break...sticking out like that and so close to the headers.
Its kind of a big job to fix...just for a cosmetics. Because you're looking at replacing the head.
I have a spare head off of a 750 (Canadian), which should work as the only difference in the engine is the crank.

Nice looking bike! I'm guessing that those missing cooling fins probably won't have a huge effect on the temperature. It's also in kind of an incongruous spot there where the header bolts on, so from the pic it doesn't look terribly obvious either.

the fin would be alot of work just for the looks. engine removal, carb removal, head removal, engine block removal. replace block with one with good fins, replace everything and check rings while you have the block off
