I have some soft Corbin saddle bags and seat-top bags that I throw on for extended trips. I'm hoping to one day find the hardcase saddlebags that were SUPPOSEDLY available for the NHS (but I've never seen).

Good looking bike -I dream about riding some of the roads in California.
It appears that your windscreen is smoke. Mine is blacked out. It may have come from an '86, as my fairing is an '86. Does anybody know if that was a change for '86 - blacking out the windscreen?

I'm pretty sure there wasn't a change. I picked up a used fairing and windscreen locally from a guy who had an '85 700s and I appears exactly the same as the one that's on my '86.

Yup, the screen is smoke. However, I've seen replacement screens for sale all over the internet and some of them look blacked out to me. Hard to tell with pictures.
I got the Corbin seat off of eBay a few years back. It was a vicious fight between me and a couple of bidders and I think I paid a hefty price for it, too. But you just don't see seats like that! I had a good bidding war for the luggage rack, too. Although, when I got it, it didn't fit like I thought it should. It was a bit wide and I had to bend it a little and get some longer bolts to make it work. It was chrome and I'm pretty sure it went to another bike. But in the end, it worked out fine. I had it sand blasted and powdercoated black. It was enough of a rack to install that Givi trunk.

Hard to beleive your 700S is over 20 years old... These Hondas hold up well and yours sure holds true! I'm sure that at least one of those folks in a bidding war were from this forum! Welcome to the forum! Eric

Is there something on the right handlebar? Anyway, I always liked the looks of the Gunfighter seat, but suspect that the repositioning opportunity afforded by the flat stock seat was probably for the best. I should be able to identify that tank bag, but my memory is failing.

That's my Garmin 60CSx GPS. The GPS's bicycle handlebar mount also fits on the Nighthawk handlebars. I plug it into a powerplug adapter I rigged up to attach to the trickle charge wire thats tapped into the battery. With a Y-adapter, I can plug in a cellphone, bluetooth earpiece charger, MP3 player, or whatever else that doesn't draw alot. It's an awesome setup for a 25-year-old bike that was never meant to have such amenities.

my '84 had a slightly tinted windscreen, I've only seen '86's with blackout ones, but ebay you can get my slightly tinted/smoked out/or blackedout ones, whichever floats your boat (ordered the black out one myself, but keeping original). love the seat as well, corbin knew what they were doing asthetically with the blue outline on the gunfighter seat, my stock seat is too soft for roadtrips, as odd as that sounds. KTM makes hard saddle bags, and I'm researching how to make the mounts, seems a mount can be bolted in original seats. Did you splice in an aftermarket cigarette lighter (like you can buy at o'rielly's) as I have been debating doing this myself? did you have to put inline fuses/ regulators so it the plug works right? Great Pic! happy trails!

Early on, I had purchased a battery tender to keep my battery topped off. It came with a fused wire that you permanently connect to the battery and a quick-disconnect on the other end. I purchased an extension wire made by the same manufacturer for that trickle charger, snipped off one of the ends, and spliced in a cigarette lighter plug I got from Radio Shack. Since the line was already fused on the battery wire side, I don't think I spliced in another fuse-holder.
So now, whenever I need a power supply feed, I connect my homemade extension to the battery tender wire and run it into my tank bag via a access hole in the bag. From there, I can connect my GPS, phone, whatever. I'll try to take a picture of it and post it this week.
Let me know what you figure out with the hard saddle bags. That would be a nice addition to my touring setup.
