Well just got my first pair of Draggin Jeans  today and i have to say that they are really comfortable , more so than a regular pair of jeans , the Kevlar is real soft almost like chantilly lace but there are a couple things i wish were different.

here you can see that the Kevlar is i the correct place when in the riding position

but when you stand up the Kevlar stitching starts in the middle of the knee cap and on down, not too crazy about that (wish it was sewn 4 inches higher)

Here i've turned them inside out so you can see the amount of kevlar , i wish there was a little more coverage around the the hip area toward the front of the pant but it's better than nothing

My bet is that if you don these and your normal riding gear, you won't be able to touch knee to floor without the kevlar in between.  Likewise with the front hip area.  You really will be closer to a fetal position than standing at attention when the time comes, unless you're sliding on your butt (at which point the knee armor will not matter).

My pal tested his pair via low slide on a wet road.  The denim lost a little nap, his skin was unbroken.  Yeah he was bruised up and sore for a week or so, but these resist abrasion, not impact.

IME: Crash pants tend to have the armor set a little low while standing up straight. When you hit the ground, your knee will be bent and that's why it's in the correct position while riding. The padding needs to be up over your kneecap while in the riding position though. Squat down and set your knees on the floor. The padding should be above your kneecap while you're on your knees.

My overpants fit about the same way that yours do though it's a little higher when I gear up properly. I thought it was a little too low. When I picked myself off the ground, I realized that someone did their homework and the pads were in the exact right place to protect my knees at the moment of impact.

Stupid question time:
1. Is that just regular jean material? (It looks like it in the picture) I've never looked at those pants closely in the store before because I saw jean material and cringed in horror from the flasbacks as a kid ripping jeans to shreds in countless extremely low energy fall down go boom situations.
2. How about knee and hip padding? (If it's just anti abrasion kevlar and no padding, you need to get some padding on your knees NOW) - jump off a table and land on your knees then multiply the forces by a lot and you'll understand why I say padding is essential.
