I have this disease that wont allow me to leave well enough alone. I had my buddy who is a professional painter do a custom pinstriping job on my new helmet. The paint isn't completely dry yet so, there is still the chalk marks on it. Looks fantastic though. I just ordered my son a new helmet last week so, as soon as it gets here, it's going in for pinstriping.  super

Kinda cool. Pinstriping like that is becoming a lost art.

Cute young'un in the background! Makes quite a contrast to the pinstriping.

That's a steady hand doing that good work....your buddy's talented.

Thanks for the compliments. My buddy has been striping for 40+ years. I wish I had half of his telent. He is going to oversee my paint work on my NH when I can finally get started and will also do the striping once its done.

I had just ordered a new helmet for my son on Friday so, as soon as it comes in, its going directly to my buddy for some striping. Its always good to have friends with talents like that.

If anyone is interested in seing some of his other work, heres a link to his website. http://www.4thgearstudios.com/

Your friend is incredibly talented.  I can't cut in the crown molding in a bedroom without making a mess.  Before the stripes were painted, what prep work was done to the helmet?

As far as I know, he just wiped the surface down with thinner just to clean it before applying the paint. He uses OneShot sign paint which will stick to almost anything.
