So I finally found a few guys to go ride with, after having the bike for about 2 weeks......

Well, while riding I lost the turn signals and brake light. The front signals still light up as normal, but don't blink unless I work the switch. The rear signals don't light up at all. The tail light works but I have no brake light.

I also had an issue where the plug behind the right side fairing got got enough to melt part of the plug...plugs into a part that's round and has a bone like shaped fuse. Anyone know what I'm talking about and maybe have that plug or a harness?

Thanks in advance.
Mike

I'm betting flasher relay problems it it lights but doesn't flash.  Do a search, the topic has been covered extremely well in the past.
I'm guessing that you're referring to the 30 main fuse, which is a metal strip bolted in on each end?  If the connector still works, and can be opened, I wouldn't bother, tape it up.  Otherwise your options are probably either to put individual connectors one each wire (Radio Shack has this stuff, as should an indy bike shop)  or just solder oll the connections and hope components never need removal or testing.

Ya,  did some poking around. I'm going to get the solid state flasher and seal it up. Will the flasher have any affect on the brake light not working?

Should be a separate circuit.  Verify that neither the front nor rear brake activates the bulb, and that it's not just a broken filament...then it's circuit testing time.

I found the issue with the brake light, fuse blew. Which also killed the signals... but now... I feel i have a short somewhere. The issue now is that the signals blink increasingly faster until... the relay gets so hot it tweaks out.

Soooo.... I'm under the assumption I have a wire with a melted casing Sad  Yay for me

So the brake light seems to have been resolved by a new fuse.

I still have the issue where the turn signals, load up the relay and blink consistantly faster and faster. So tonight, I bought a harness on eBay. I won it for $9.99 lol, with $9.00 shipping. I will at least be able to replace the melted plug on mine (whole harness not spliced of course) and see if that fixes my issue :-)
