Spiritof86, Loki, and I decided to get together for a ride Saturday.  I picked a twisty loop down the levee south over to the coast of Vermillion Bay at Cypremort Point.  So we meet and gas up the bikes.

About 40 miles later, we are faced with a choice.  I've never been this far south down the levee.  The map doesn't show it, but at this point, the paved road ends.  Loki's GPS says if we continue, it will be 13 miles until we turn off.  Spiritof86 and I are not sure about this, but we give it a try for 1/2 mile.

On the other hand, with his mud grips, Loki is throwing a rooster tail like the holeshot at a supercross.

In true democratic fashion, 2 votes win and we turn back around.  We run the exact same route back to the gas station, and now 80 miles in, everybody fills up.  This time we take a different route to the Bay.  Decide to stop and eat at the Bayview Restaurant, Marina, Watering Hole, Bikini Magnet, and Bait/Tackle Establishment.  Enjoying the view:

It's a good day to take the boat out and we are entertained with plenty of different styles.  Here's a couple of runabouts

This one will fly by everything but the gas station.

Or, if your even richer, you can bring the house with you.

After lunch, we move the bikes to the point to look around.  Nice looking stable:

Not much wind, but they are making due.

Spiritof86 enjoying the day

It's hard to tell but here, Loki is designing a telescoping keel for a sailboat that will be small enough to tow behind his nighthawk.  OK, I made that part up but I tell ya, the guy's mind is always in motion (Fuel cell - 'nuf said).

Lighthouses always make a good picture.

We start heading back, and Spiritof86 breaks off.  Loki and I take the long way to my house for a cold one.  Another good time on the bike.

To come, or to go as long as I am on my nighthawk.

Nice.  Looks like ya'll needed dual sports for that ride.  Has the south wind been strong down in S La?  It has been howling here for the last week.  Steady 20mph with some gusts that blow bikes all over the road.

Yesterday was a reprieve, for some strange reason.  But for the most part, it's been quite breezy.

Great ride report.  Must have been a sight to see those two red/white/blue 700s running along side each other!
Looks like you all are enjoying the ride!
Be safe!

Nice pics. That area reminds me of this area. If I'm not mistaken, a lot of the local seafood companies get their crabmeat in the off season from Louisiana.

Which leads me to the question, "Where's the steaming pot of gumbo?"

All that riding and no chowing?

You'll hafta ask hppants about that one.  I'm originally from Ohio so I can't claim to be Cajun chef, lol.

Really did - took turns with the lead.  Bikes ran great.

It's getting kind of warm for gumbo now.  I opted for a crab burger and onion rings.  Good eats.  Should have taken a picture, but it went down like an aspirin tablet.

Very likely - lue Point Crabs are taken year round inshore and along the coast.  White shrimp are seasonal inshore, but are harvested year round off the coast (there is a marker used to draw the line).  Crawfish are also seasonal, and the current season is winding down now.  Wild and farm-raised catfish are year round.

Took a couple pictures myself at the marina. Don't you just hate warm weather? The view was beautiful.

Spring is in the air. Saturday there was no pollen on the bike. Sunday when I loaded up the bike I had to wipe off the tank before putting the tank bag on. I took the levy road north on the way home. It turns to dirt shortly after I-10 but I continued on. One day I'll ride it all the way to the end but it seams the only time I ever ride out there is on the way home so going north is the opposite direction.

Not to mention most people pull those boats out about as often as their RVs, and Harley's.....just another toy I can't afford to rent the storage space for while I don't use it.

Right you are - Loki commented that if we all 3 sold our bikes and pooled money, we couldn't pay for 1/2 of one of those big outboards.   deal
