Here is the rest of my stable and the reason I love standards / UJM's. Both bikes are family heirlooms that I've been slowly "rejuvenating" over the last few years thanks to eBay, numerous other on line parts sources, a local shop for the stuff beyond my current abilities, and lotsa steel wool for the chrome and Mother's for the aluminum ;-) The 175 is the very same bike I used to get my MC license back in the '80's. Enjoy!

Gorgeous bikes and I love the color(s). What's the story with those luggage racks? They seem way to big to be period.

Thanks! Believe it or not the luggage racks are period aftermarket (A&H brand i think) and the rear case is a modern item I got from JC Whitney. I figure it looks period appropriate and is very convenient.

Love the color on both bikes. Looks like they are very well preserved. How do they run?

Thanks again! I confess that I got most of the body parts repainted using dondirtbiker's paint kits. His kits recreate the Candy Gold and Flake Sunrise Orange perfectly and no I did not do the painting The 175's tank was a lucky NOS find on eBay a few years back. Both bikes have been mostly intact with good engines so its been a matter of me scrounging up, exchanging, cleaning, touching up, polishing , etc. and whatever looks best goes back on. They run good but being the vintage machines they are...they can get a little fussy here and there so there's always some fiddlin' going on in the garage. Although I don't mind my share of tinkering, part of the reason I went with my comparatively low maintenance 750NH is because these two keep me busy enough already.

Nice job putting them back to the way they should be.
