1983 Nighthawk at 30k miles with new Corbin seat 1985 Sabre 700 at 14k miles with used Corbin seat 1989 VTR250 at 5k miles with mirror extenders I like all three; the light weight of the VTR250, the low seat height of the CB650sc and the sound of the VF700s Get any of them above 7000 RPM and really have fun. Ride Safely,

Very well preserved, but thankfully being put to their intended use!
Wait, is that a front drum brake on the VTR?

triumvirate Vocabulary expanded by one word - tx LL I think the Sabre is gorgeous - is it just me, or does it look to be a much bigger bike than it is?

ExTex - I too have a VTR250. An '89 without the pink, also. :) Neat little bike. I wish mine had a centerstand like yours.
happycommuter - These VTRs have an inboard disc front brake. On the left side of the bike, the caliper is exposed, but the disc is still not visible. In '90, they went to the normal disc brake setup.

WOW, Thanks for all the responses.
I'll try to answer a few questions that were asked.
VTR250 Center Stand. I bought all of the parts from Honda except the pivot pin, which is no longer made. The stand, spring and rubber bumper are still available from Honda for about $80 plus shipping. I made the pivot pin from 5/8" rod, just cut to length (~7") and drill 2 cotterkey pin holes (1/8")
VTR250 Front Brake: It is an hydraulic disk brake with the caliper inside the disk. It works well after I took it apart to clean up and unfreeze a piston. Some say it may overheat with extended use, like down a mountain.
I just got the VTR (a Valentine present from my wife). She is looking for a small bike, so it may acquire a stable mate.
Sabre 700: I have had the bike 1 1/2 years, just got the Corbin seat last winter. The seat does set off the bike well. Yes, it is a "big" bike to me. The wheels are the same size as for the Sabre V65 and the frame looks the same to me. It is a bit too tall and 100 lbs too heavy for me, but I love the sound of the V4 engine. Looking at the bike, you can see why I had to have it!
Nighthawk 650: This is the best fit bike for me (5'7" & 135 lbs). The NEW Corbin seat sets about 1/2" lower and that helps my short legs. I bought the Nighthawk in 2006 when I decided to get back into riding.
So, I have been lucky to find great bike with low to reasonable mileage all within 200 miles of the house. One just has to look every day (it seems). and keep checking Ebay for parts.
Thanks for the great comments. I welcome any questions.
Ride safely,
