We have over 1500 members on the forum now and I know some of you live in very scenic places.  What I want to see on this thread are some pics of the backroads in your area.  A place to post a pic when you don't want to give a full report.  I called the thread "BR of the World" to encourage some of our members from outside the US and Canada to show where you ride.  Come on now, don't be shy.  Here's one I took recently, just liked the enormous green background.  Post 'em up.

Sounds like another reason to take a ride. I was thinking of doing a "round the county" ride and go to all of our "attractions". If the weather is good, I might go this weekend and send the pics.

Once I get my Givi trunk installed, a digi camera is the first thing I will pack to keep with me for this thread.

You want backroads? Let's just say that I haven't been on a main road while traveling in over 20 years. I don't even know, or care, where the main roads are anymore.

I like that shot Loki.  Did you travel down a dirt road for that?  Bumblebee, I don't like the main roads either.  Looking forward to some shots of Colorado back country,

This one was on one of my most memorable rides.  I had no where to go, and all day to get there.

Maybe. Wouldn't be surprised but I don't remember exactly where that was. All I know is it was on the other side of a levy.

Man, I'm seeing some great pics and talent here. Good idea for this thread. Now I have to get a chance to do more than commute on the bike so I can make a contribution.

Looking forward to some shots of Colorado back country,

You'll get them... Others states too, just not sure which ones yet and won't know until I'm actually there.

Here's a fun one from a few years ago near Amarillo TX:

some of mine from last year in missouri, i moved to tx and havent learned much about the area nor had alot of time with wok to go rideing, but thats going to change this coming up week...so here ya go enjoy

so the next pic or so is of my bike IN a Creek here. i rode right down on the rocks for these pics. going down wasnt hard. it was back up that sucked....

So inside the park, there are alot of hills cuves and so forth. here is a sign....

so while i was rideing up the rode, i took this pic. you cant tell it, but this is a up hill.

so this is by a lake inside the park, it is a picnic area

so this is the lake i was talking about

and my bike by the lake

this is on the road coming up from the swimming side of the lake

so this is the last of the pics for today, but its the start of a wildlife walking area

and some more for u

this is just my bike and the city limits sign of Foley Missouri

i came up on a subdivision that is still being built, and i found some really good lots left in it way in the back. so that's what the next couple of pics are

the next one is just a mile sign of course i went right to Winfeild

the next couple are at lock and damn #25 in Winfeild, Missouri

this is of a slught that is near the Missouri river. the green spots are small like islands out in the middle. the water is just that low...

i decided that i was just going to ride north, didn't matter if i was riding threw Fields, gravel roads or whatever. i was going north. so i just stuck to northbound gravel roads. this pic is a pic of the road i was on as i was riding down it it. it was just a corn wall on each side as far as you could see, with a oak tree in there ever 1/4 mile or so...

This next pic was at a Y in the road. So i had to stop with the hawk and take a pic. so here it is, and the Sign didn't lie. it latterly ended in lapping water of the Missouri River....

the next 2 pics was on the outher side of that Y i was talking about...to the right from that Sign

This is as close to a Lighthouse you get in Missouri

apparently boats along rivers have rest/picnic areas as well

this is the last pic of my trip. it is just a fork off of the Missouri River.

Great pics people.  Jwomack looks like your 750 is a dual sport bike.  If you want to escape DFW for some E Tex backroads riding just let me know when.

sounds good to me. maybe this summer/fall i can make my way your way for a weekend....nice to see someone else in tx on here. not to man, i moved away from mo andill where there was a few to where no one is it seems...so ill def be takeing you up on that...and same goes for you. im sure by then ill have had time to find places....

\and yeah theres just about no where im scared to that my bike....the pic of my bike in a creek bed, i had to ride up 20-25 foot long mud track to get back out of. it was a little hard caz our bikes have to rev so high to get moving...but i made it without dummping the bike, altho i did have mud everywhere....but it was fun while it lasted....

Took a ride south into North Carolina this morning ending up in Elizabith City.  I included a oic of my NH along the edge of the Albamarle Sound (just west of the Outer Banks).  Maybe I'll head down to Kitty Hawk (and the Wright Bros Memorial) next weekend?

Enjoy!

Nice picture, Eric.  One day, I'll see you part of the world.  When I took my family down the entire Blue Ridge Parkway, I campaigned to swing over to the VA coast before heading South, but I was out voted 3-1.

Some great photos everyone.  Nice idea for a thread.  Here is a photo from last year.  Don't know exactly where this was taken but I do know it was a winding highway in south-west Wisconsin.

For those who haven't been to Deals Gap and the surrounding area, here are some pictures I took in early November 2008.  Some from a loop that goes east from Deals Gap (north on 441 through Cherokee towards Gatlinburg, cutting off on 337 to the Foothills Pkwy, south to 129 and back to Deals Gap via the Dragon), some from Deals Gap, and some from the Cherohala Skyway.  I don't know if the road closing would block the loop.  If so, it's a shame - it's a great all day ride.

Here are some pictures from the loop.

Here are a couple from Deals Gap

Finally, some from the Cherohala Skyway

My Nighthawk on the Skyway.  (That's not me with it.)

Sorry for the picture quality - I took them with a Casio pocket camera.
