Hello, I'm new around here, just discovered this site....lot's of good info and very active....I like! A little background......been riding almost my entire life, owned many bikes. I own a 2001 750, purchased it new and it currently has 38,000+ miles. During this time, other bikes have come and gone but the Nighthawk has stayed. I also own a 2009 Kawasaki Versys 650, my life is now complete! I will be reviewing the tech forums to see if there's a solution to a recurring problem with mine. :

Welcome to the forum. Isn't it great to be the original owner? It's nice to know that you won't be running into maintenance nightmares hidden there by previous owners I bought mine still in the crate 14 yrs. ago and I'm sure I'll have to leave it to someone in my will. That's an interesting luggage rack you have there. It almost looks like the OEM Hondaline backrest/rack with the backrest cut off. There's not much in the accessory world that fits on the late model Nighthawk. What is it?

In regards to the rack, it is the Hondaline rack with the backrest portion cut off. I did this so I could interchange the Givi box with my Versys. It would not fit with the backrest attachment.

Welcome! Nice rides and I like what you did to make the Givi useable on both machines.

The decal says "Sport Shield", I don't know if it's the name of the maunfacturer or what. The dealer included it when I purchased the bike.

That's a National Cycle shield and the model is named Street Shield. It's the one I have on my 650. It's nice big enough to do the job but it doesn't overwhelm the bike.

I really like the looks of the Versys. Do you ride 2 up with it? If you do, how is the comfort factor for your passenger?
