According to this description, "waterproof" seems to mean a plastic barrier in the lining of the pants. It is pure misery, let me assure you I've made that mistake before.

I've used a lot of gear, and the only pants that ever kept me dry in heavy rain are my Aerostich pants. When it comes to Goretex riding gear, you get what you pay for.

Goretex all the way. Even my everyday shoes are goretex.
