It got under my skin when a friend from the ADV Forums got one, so I started looking around for a dedicated touring machine.

I brought this home today -

A very nice 2003 BMW R1150RT

I had to ride it home from Ft Collins Colorado to Denver in constant cold & rain, and the fairing and heated grips really took the edge off-

Now I have a bike that I can comfortably ride all day and carry my gear.

And yes, I still want a RW&B 1986 NH 700 S......

Very nice Hondo!  Do I spy a birthday present to self?  ImaPoser  I find myself lusting after BMW's quite a bit...oh well one day when I'm rich.  But hey a trip to Deal's Gap on the BMW would be like flying first class, so we'll see you there  winker

Congratulations on your new scoot! super

Here is a little teasing for you, BMW stands for "Bring My Wallet"!
However, you are quite the mechanic and I am sure you can do
most maintenance yourself after seeing your overhaul of your CB.

Enjoy the new ride.

Very nice. I hope to someday have a nice touring machine like that. How many miles are on it? Looks very clean for a 7 year old bike.

An old guy with a beemer often visits the dealer down the street. He has 950,000 miles with the original bottom end. The shop verified this to be true. Still hard to imagine. May that luck follow you also.

There was a legendary k75 called old smokey. It had 350k on it when it got totalled a while back.  Treat her right, she'll run forever.

Now, I want to know, are they really all they're rumored to be? I have liked Beemers since the sixties yet thought them to expensive for me. You have a very sharp looking bike there. Sorry you something you now have to wash tee hee hee.

It has 29k and was equipped with new Ohlins suspension front & rear as well as a complete Remus exhaust -  thumb

Welcome to the Beemer club Hondo!   thumb

That's a looker of a bike.  Now don't go damaging all that plastic when you get ready to do some maintenance.   smiler  29K - that's barely starting to break in.  Ride the heck out of it - that's what the boxers like.
