Be careful on that pooter scooter. You'll want to walk that princess down the aisle one day. I've done two so far with one to go.

Sharp bike. Looks fast sitting still. Your daughter looks ready to go out for a ride.

thanks for all the nice comments. the princess is ready to ride but mom is not so sure. that is one reason i got the nh so she could hold on much easier but haven't convinced mom yet. other daughter is 8 months so she can't hold on yet. the oldest one loves to ride on the xr400 but we struggle to find time i'm sure many of you can relate.

Sharp Blackbird you got there! I did see your post when you introduced yourself and saw in your signature you had a 'Bird. I wondered to myself, why would he buy a Nighthawk when he has a 'Bird, but maybe when you are on probation every so often because of the 'Bird you need the Nighthawk? From what I have read, all owners of Blackbirds do triple digit sightseeing. Welcome to the forum. Paul

thanks m98 this is my 3rd nh can't beat them for the price. i got this one last year for 1300.00 and had only 10200 miles so i couldn't resist. i was commuting to work on the bird which is a bit of overkill. i keep a much lower profile on the nh and don't have people constantly wanting to race. also doesn't attract the law nearly so much.

thanks for all the nice comments. the princess is ready to ride but mom is not so sure. that is one reason i got the nh so she could hold on much easier but haven't convinced mom yet. It's interesting you mentioned this, as this has become an issue in our household of late. I drove my (then) 12YO son to school a few times last season and he really seemed to enjoy riding. So I took him on a longer ride of about an hour once. No problems. This year, I mentioned taking him on a ride to my wife and she put her foot down and said "No way." After a bit of mild marital strife, she ended with, "Fine, take him on a ride. But if anything -- ANYTHING -- happens to him, I will never forgive you." That pretty much ended things there, and I drove on by myself. My son, now 13, has shown what I'd call a mild interest in the bike and has helped me with most of my maintenance and repair projects. I'd like to foster his interest and reward his work with a bit of the enjoyment of riding before he loses interest. Unfortunately, buying him his own ride, like a 50cc dirt bike, isn't in the financial picture at the time. Suggestions?

I would keep an eye out for craigslist for something small that maybe doesn't run. You can then fix it up together. Most things non-running you can get on the cheap. Plus, it's father/son bonding time.

my daughter also enjoys working with me in the garage and at this point consider myself lucky we can enjoy this time together because mom still hasn't agreed to riding on the street but i do ride with her off road. guess i'm just picking my battles carefully. i also would keep an eye on craigs list as i've seen many dirt bikes for 500.00 that ran and even cheaper if they didn't. good luck.

your correct. mostly motocross but a few from hare scrambles. funny how they move from the house to the garage to storage or wherever they don't have to be dusted.

That was the worlds fastest production bike until the Hayabusa took the podium. Fast bike and you can find one for a good deal ;)
